Coordinate Reference System DWG

The Coordinate Reference System (CRS) Domain Working Group develops strategies for encoding of earth coordinate reference systems and transformations between coordinate reference systems. Also addresses units of measure. The group has worked consistanty on the joint OGC-ISO Document 19111 - Spatial Referencing by Coordinates and on ISO 19162 Well Known Text for Coordinate Reference Systems.

The group provides a focal point for related standards working groups and for managing issues with the standards and the coordinate reference systems domain.

Military Pilot Project Testbed, Phase 1

OGC’s Military Pilot Project, Phase 1, sponsored by the US Army Engineering and Development Center (ERDC), was a collaborative effort that contributed to the operational validation of interoperable commercial geoprocessing products for the defense and intelligence domain. MPP-1 addressed the problem that no single vendor’s commercial products meet all the diverse requirements of defense geoprocessing, and the diverse products from different vendors that might meet these requirements don’t, without OGC's standards, interoperate.

CityGML

CityGML is an open data model and XML-based format for the storage and exchange of virtual 3D city models. It is an application schema for the Geography Markup Language version 3.1.1 (GML3), the extendible international standard for spatial data exchange issued by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and the ISO TC211. The aim of the development of CityGML is to reach a common definition of the basic entities, attributes, and relations of a 3D city model. This is especially important with respect to the cost-effective sustainable maintenance of 3D city models, allowing the reuse of the same...
