2. Purpose of this Standards Working Group
The purpose of this standards working group is to adapt a set of existing standards to provide the capability to represent and encode temporal metadata within data sets and protocols which uses a customised calendar.
This interoperability experiment (GPKG-EE IE) tested a proposed extension to the OGC GeoPackage Encoding Standard (12-128r1). Testing was achieved by building GeoPackages using the proposed extension and then using those GeoPackages in visualization and analysis software. This IE produced an OGC Engineering Report that discusses whether the elevation extension meets community requirements and can proceed to the OGC standards adoption process.
The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) announced the successful completion of the OGC Incident Management Information Sharing Internet of Things Pilot Project (IMIS IoT Pilot) on 8 March 2016. The IMIS IoT Pilot was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) and the IJIS Institute. The project was launched on 22 April 2015 with the public release of the Call for Participation to demonstrate open system sensor integration for emergency and disaster response.
