The Geo4NIEM Project was organized to address specific functional requirements to meet the following objectives:
This project is for the Concept Definition (CD) phase of a Spatial Data Quality Certification Initiative in OGC’s Interoperability Program. The main outcome of the CD Phase will be a Feasibility Report defining the Initiative. The Feasibility Report will be used to recruit additional sponsors for the execution phase of the Initiative. In particular the Feasibility Report will be ready for discussion at the INTERGEO conference in Munich, 9-13 October 2006.
Results of the Auth IE are presented in this Engineering Report document and serve as guidance to both implementers and organizations deploying solutions that involve basic authentication. It is the belief of the Auth IE participants that if such a document is made available to the community more OGC implementing products will natively support authentication.
