Location Powers event scaling linked data to big data

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) has announced its next Location Powers workshop. The theme for the workshop is ‘Big Linked Geodata.’ The workshop will take place on Wednesday 22nd March, alongside OGC’s next TC Meeting, in Delft, The Netherlands.

The focus of the workshop is to investigate how big data approaches can aid in effective exploitation of linked geographic data.

OGC invites participation in Electromagnetic Spectrum Domain Working Group

28 November 2016 - The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) is calling for participation in its newly established Electromagnetic Spectrum Domain Working Group (EM Spectrum DWG). This group will review requirements for an international open standard data model and derived encoding(s) for data describing electromagnetic fields in real-world environments. After reviewing requirements, the group may charter an OGC Standards Working Group to develop the standard data model and encodings.

OGC seeks public comment on a proposed work item for Indexed 3D Scene Layers as a Community standard work item

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) is considering start of a new work item for a Community Standard: Indexed 3D Scene Layers (I3S). The public is requested to comment on this work item proposal. The Indexed 3D Scene Layers (I3S) delivery format is used to stream 3D geospatial content to mobile, web and desktop clients.
