4 March 2016 - The membership of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) seeks public comment on the candidate OGC® Coverage Collection Extension Standard. The candidate OGC® Coverage Collection Extension Standard specifies a useful mechanism for grouping coverages together into a collection.

Geospatial coverages, as defined by OGC and ISO, represent homogeneous collections of values located in space/time, such as spatio-temporal sensor, image, simulation, and statistics data.

This standard specifies a design pattern for defining interfaces to publish and search collections of descriptive information (metadata) about geospatial data, services and related information objects.

OGC seeks public comment on CDB Candidate Standard

This OGC Candidate Standard specifies an open format and encoding for the storage, access and modification of a representation of the natural and built environment for simulation applications. CDB defines the data representation, organization and storage structure of a worldwide synthetic representation of the earth as well as the conventions necessary to support all of the subsystems of full-mission simulators and networks of heterogeneous simulators.

4 March 2015 - The membership of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) seeks public comment on the candidate OGC CF-netCDF 3.0 encoding using the GML Coverage Application Schema Standard.

This new addition to the netCDF suite of standards provides additional ways to serve complex multi-dimensional CF-netCDF data for use in geographic information systems (GIS) or other geospatial systems not capable of handling complex CF-netCDF data.

OGC Seeks Public Comment on Proposed Web Coverage Service Specification

Thousand Oaks, CA, December 18, 2002 - At last week's Open GIS Consortium, Inc. (OGC) Technical and Planning Committee meetings, the Coverage Working Group, the OGC Technical Committee, and the OGC Planning Committee voted to release the proposed Web Coverage Service (WCS) Implementation Specification, for public comment, as a Request for Comment (RFC). The RFC details draft interfaces that allow gridded and certain non-gridded geospatial data on a server to be accessed and used by client software as input into spatial model, local rendering and other uses.
