OGC Announces Interoperability Internship Project

Wayland, MA, USA, December 17, 2002 - The Open GIS Consortium, Inc. (OGC) today announced a new resource to link those interested in working on interoperability issues with those who need personnel to do so. The OGC Internship Project ( http://www.opengeospatial.org/univ/ ) provides an electronic bulletin board where students can post their areas of interest and organizations can post their needs. The ultimate goal is to match up these two groups to help move interoperability in the geospatial domain forward.

OGC Members Adopt Implementation Specifications for Location Based Services and Enhanced Web Mapping

Wayland, MA, July 16, 2003 -In June, OGC members voted to adopt the OpenGIS(R) Location Services (OpenLS(TM)) Implementation Specification, and the OpenGIS Web Map Context Implementation Specification. Once editorial comments are incorporated, the OpenLS Implementation Specification will be publicly released. The Web Map Context Implementation Specification is publicly available and can be found at http://www.opengeospatial.org/techno/implementation.htm .

OGC Seeks Input on Next Version of Geography Markup Language - GML(TM)

(OGC®) is inviting the public to offer change requests for consideration by the OGC Technical Committee on a revision of the OpenGIS® Geography Markup Language (GML) Encoding Standard. GML defines a data encoding in XML for geographic data and a grammar to express models of such data using XML Schema. 

OGC Receives GIS Development 'Professional Service to Geospatial Community Award'

OGC Korea Forum Established, First Meeting Announced

Seoul, Korea, August 24, 2009: The Korea Forum of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) is a Korean organization chartered to provide government, academic, research and industry organizations in Korea with opportunities to learn about and discuss issues related to interoperability of geographic information involving OGC standards. The Forum seeks to promote interoperability and create synergy between the various producers and users of geographic information and geomatics products and services in Korea.
