December 4, 2007. Wayland, MA. The Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC®) seeks public comment on a draft OpenGIS® Encoding Standard (OGC KML) for KML 2.2, a XML-based encoding schema for expressing geographic annotation and visualization on existing or future web-based online maps (2d) and Earth browsers (3d).
The draft OGC KML 2.2 standard formalizes the KML 2.2 model and language while remaining backwards compatible with existing KML 2.2 files. In comparison with the Google KML 2.2 Reference, the draft standard defines:

(OGC®) has issued a Request for Quotes/Call for Participation (RFQ/CFP) for the OGC Web Services, Phase 6 (OWS-6) Interoperability Initiative, a testbed to advance OGC's open interoperability framework for geospatial capabilities. (OGC®) announces the reopening of a Request For Quotations and Call for Participation (RFQ/CFP) to solicit proposals for the Empire Challenge 09 Pilot (EC09 OGC Pilot) that was originally posted in December 2008 and then withdrawn for lack of funding.
September 24, 2009. The Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC®) has a limited number of registrations available for the Spatial Law and Policy Summit that will be held at The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center on October 7, 2009. Professionals from government and the private sector whose work involves laws and policies related to geospatial technology are invited to register and attend.
