Core Services Initiative Will Advance Emergency Communications

December 07, 2007 -- Washington, DC - COMCARE Emergency Response Alliance, the Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC), the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and the National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) jointly announced they will conduct a Core Services Initiative to significantly improve interoperable, inter-organizational communications and information sharing for emergency preparedness, response and recovery.

David Wesloh Receives OGC’s Gardels Award

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) announces that it has appointed Denise McKenzie as Executive Director, Marketing and Communications. Working with OGC staff, board, membership and partner organizations, Denise will be responsible for the planning and execution of marketing, communications and education programs to raise awareness and increase application of OGC standards by technology providers and users worldwide. 

Deutsche PhoneSat Joins Geoprocessing Standards Effort

Wayland, MA, USA, December 17, 1998: Deutsche PhoneSat, a German telecommunications and flight control, remote sensing and GIS company, has become a Principal Member in the Open GIS Consortium, Inc. (OGC), the international standards organization dedicated to interoperable geoprocessing. As a Principal Member, Deutsche PhoneSat will have a seat on OGC's Management Committee and will help shape the consortium's business plan and its OpenGIS(R) Specification plan and schedule.

DigitalGlobe becomes a Principal Member of the Open Geospatial Consortium

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) is pleased to announce that DigitalGlobe has raised its membership level from Technical Committee level to Principal level. As a Principal member, DigitalGlobe will participate in OGC's Planning Committee to explore market and technology trends relevant to OGC's mission, to assure that OGC's policies and procedures remain effective and agile in a changing technology environment, and to act as final approval authority for all OGC standards.

EC Commissioner For Research to Speak at OGC Meeting

(the Open GIS Consortium) announced today that Mr. Phillipe Busquin, the European Commission's Commissioner for Research, will be the main speaker at the OGC Evening Reception on April 4 at the Colonster Castle in Liege, Belgium. This reception is part of OGC's program of Technical Committee and Planning Committee meetings scheduled for 2 - 5 April in Liege, and hosted by IONIC Software, an OGC member company.
