OGC announces Geospatial Linking Service Interoperability Experiment

Wayland, MA, December 14, 2006 - The Open Geospatial Consortium Inc. (OGC) will launch an Interoperability Experiment on "geospatial linking" on January 15, 2007. The Geospatial Linking Service Interoperability Experiment will test methods for linking attribute data (typically records in a database) to those data records' geospatial representations (typically stored as digital maps) when both data and geospatial representations are stored at separate locations on the Internet.

OGC(R) Requests Comments on Web Coverage Standard Extensions

June 30, 2008, Wayland, Mass. - The Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC) membership approved a 30 day public comment period for a revision to the OpenGIS® Web Coverage Service (WCS) Interface Standard. The revision includes two extensions to WCS: the WCS 1.1 Transaction Extension and the Web Coverage Processing Service Processing (WCPS) Extension.

PCI Geomatics' decision to upgrade underscores its commitment to geospatial interoperability, the geospatial industry, and the OGC. OGC Calls for Industry Input on multi-INT Decision Fusion

Wayland, MA, April 21, 2010.  The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit industry input into the second phase of a Fusion Standards Study. Phase 2 of the study focuses on Decision Fusion. Input from the RFI will influence planning for the OGC Web Services, Phase 8 (OWS-8) Testbed. OGC also seeks to establish alliances with other Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) having standards work relevant to fusion.

The OGC Announces Oceans/Meteorology/Hydrology Water Cycle Summit

25 July 2011 - The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) Hydrology Domain Working Group and the OGC Meteorology and Oceanography Domain Working Group, both of which are Joint Working Groups of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and the OGC, announced an Oceans/Meteorology/Hydrology Water Cycle Summit to be held on Wednesday 21 September 2011. The summit will be a part of the week-long OGC Technical Committee and Planning Committee Meetings, which will take place at Center Green, UCAR/NCAR,
Boulder, Colorado, USA.
