Mobile Location Services DWG

The OGC Mobile Location Services (MLS) Domain Working Group (DWG) is a venue in the OGC Standards Program for location-aware mobile requirements and use cases. The MLS DWG will achieve this goal by a variety of means, including inviting industry experts to present to the DWG, issuing change requests to existing standards, identifying potential Interoperability Initiatives that advance these requirements, and defining best practices for applying OGC standards in a mobile environment. 

GeoAPI WG

 

NOTE:  This group is Dormant.  The current work is being conducted in the GeoAPI 3.0 SWG .

 

GeoAPI aims to provide neutral, interface-only API's based upon existing and proposed OGC Standards. In short, the goal of this working group is to accomplish for GIS what JDBC achieved for databases.

Law Enforcement And Public Safety DWG

1.     Introduction and Background

OGC standards development process have depended upon communities of interest working to advance standards for improved information sharing, situational awareness and decision making.  OGC’s working group activities, testbeds and pilot initiatives will benefit from being driven by requirements and use cases provided by representatives from the law enforcement, civil security and public safety communities. 

Architecture WG

The Architecture WG considers overarching architectural issues that are germane to multiple OpenGIS(r) specifications, including mechanisms for describing and invoking services in a heterogeneous distributed network. Metadata DWG

The Metadata DWG addresses issues related to how metadata must be specified in OpenGIS Specifications to fully enable certain services in the OpenGIS Service Architecture. Maintains close correspondence between ISO TC/211 metadata standard and OpenGIS Specification's handling of metadata.
