Partnership Announces Workshop on Web Enabled Modeling and Simulation

The Web Simulation Partnership -- the Object Management Group (OMG), Open GIS Consortium (OGC), Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO), and Web3D Consortium -- together announced that they are hosting the "First Workshop on Web Enabled Modeling and Simulation." The four organizations agreed last year to collaborate on open, non-proprietary standards for Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and related technologies. The workshop will illuminate the current state of the technology and help establish a plan for going forward.

OGC Invites Participation in Web Services Interoperability Experiment

(OGC) invites participation in an "Interoperability Experiment" that will result in a proposed XML schema for encoding OGC Web Services Context documents (OWS Context). Cadcorp, DM Solutions, GeoConnections/Natural Resources Canada, and IONIC Software have initiated the "OGC Web Services Context Document Schema Interoperability Experiment".

OGC Announces First Interoperability Experiment Tackling LandXML and GML Interoperability

(OGC) announced that its first Interoperability Experiment (IE) will test a GML 3.0 application schema for encoding LandXML 1.0 documents (LandGML) and will provide a tool to transform LandXML 1.0 documents into LandGML documents. In a second phase, a tool will be developed to transform LandGML documents to LandXML 1.0 documents.
