Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging Takes Strategic Membership in the OGC®

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) (http://www.opengeospatial.org) announced that Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging has increased its level of membership in the OGC to become a Strategic Member. Strategic Membership is the highest level of membership in the OGC. Strategic Members provide significant resources to support OGC objectives in the form of funding for program initiatives and staff resources inserted into the OGC process.

OGC® Data Quality Working Group Closing Survey on Spatial Data Quality Measures January 25th

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Spatial Data Quality Working Group is pleased to announce that there has been a great response to the survey on spatial data quality measures. The survey will close by the 25th of January. This working group, under the leadership of Seb Lessware (Chair) from 1Spatial and Patrick Cunningham (Vice-Chair) of Blue Marble Geographics has been gathering secondary research information and requirements from OGC members for the past year and is now conducting a primary research phase.

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) and buildingSMART allianceTM have issued a call for sponsors from the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Owner, Operator (AECOO) community for a testbed to advance progress on communications interoperability for Building Information Models (BIM) over the building and capital facility life cycle. Sponsors define interoperability requirements to advance testbed objectives including the development of use cases, technology objectives, and schedule.

OGC Announces Another Membership Category - Aggregate Membership Serves Collaborating Entities

It enables collaborating entities to bring their common issues and perspectives into the OGC process of developing interoperability standards. For example, state or provincial and local government agencies collaborate so that emergency response plans are fully coordinated. In this process, they identify and address barriers to interoperability.
