The FIG Working Week 2005 and the 8th Conference of GSDI will be held in Cairo, Egypt April 16-21, 2005. The theme of the first FIG/GSDI Conference is "From Pharaohs to Geoinformatics". Early bird registration closes January 31, 2005. The conference program includes opening ceremony, three plenary sessions with high-profile keynote speakers, 51 technical sessions - 5 in parallel - with more than 330 papers, pre-conference tutorials and workshops on Saturday and Sunday prior the conference and several round table discussions.
