Event Description:

The OGC Testbed-14 Demonstration Event will take place at ESRIN in Frascati, Italy, on January 24th, 2019. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Innovation Program and the results from the latest Innovation Program initiative Testbed-14. The OGC Innovation Program is the experimentation lab of the OGC, where new technologies are explored that enhance earth observation research and science.

NOTE
Registration is mandatory! Space is limited and will be granted on a first come first served basis! Please check details under 'registration' below.

Testbed-14 featured fifteen tasks in total, with the ESA sponsored Earth Observation Exploitation Platform task in focus for this event. The task addressed the Big Data cloud processing challenge of deploying and executing applications close to the physical location of satellite data. The challenge included the exploration of quoting and billing mechanisms for geospatial products to improve commercialization of satellite data and data processing products.

In other threads, Testbed-14 addressed (among others topics) new standardized approaches to access and exploit satellite swath data (level 1 and 2); explored enhanced resource-oriented discovery and access mechanisms for geospatial data, addressed federations of cloud environments and developed an architecture to integrate machine learning and artificial intelligence into earth science workflows.

If you have any questions, please contact Testbed-14 chief architect Dr. Ingo Simonis (isimonis at opengeospatial.org).
