Overview:Standards of the Open Geospatial Consortium are becoming more and more established in the geospatial world and hold the key to build Geodata infrastructures based on interoperable components. The European Commission is encouraging the wider adoption of standards e.g. in the context of INSPIRE, the Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe directive.

Whilst market demand for standards compliant components is steadily growing, many end users are still puzzled as to how the underlying specifications actually evolve, or what the direct benefits are in the context of their day to day business. Moreover there are questions relating to the level of real life adoption on national and European levels.

On Friday the 3rd of April 2008 you have a chance to get first hand answers to such questions at the OGC & HellasGI Greek Interoperability Day, held in Athens, Greece.

The presentation sessions include experts from OGC, governmental organizations, academics and companies.

The presentation sessions during the Interoperability Day are accompanied by selected company and project presentations in the catering and break-out area.

The language of the event will be mainly Greek but some of the presentations will be in English.
