Thank you to everyone who participated in the Point Cloud ad hoc meeting on Monday 1st June. There were over 60 people registered for the event with approximately half that calling in via the goto meeting session.
Denise McKenzie's blog
For the past few months there have been discussions across a range of geospatial organizations about Point Cloud data, and in particular, LiDAR.
Last week the OSGeo Board put forward an Open Letter to OGC, ASPRS and ESRI. The letter can be found here http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/LIDAR_Format_Letter.
Below is the response from the OGC sent to the OSGeo Board.
The World Geospatial Developers Conference (WGDC 2015) is an annual international conference organized by 3sNews Media. The conference, now in its 3rd year, is expected to bring together over 6000 attendees in the National Convention Center in Beijing, June 10-11, 2015. The theme of this year's WGDC conference is "Building a new Geo-ecosystem".
Attend the 1st OGC Academic Summit in Calgary this month, along with the OGC Technical Committee Meeting, the 1st Canada SDI Summit, LocationTech and a country styled OGC birthday celebration!
Time for a second blog from Denise and another meaty topic for discussion.
If any of you readers work with the OGC and have not seen or heard of the GeoServices REST candidate standard in the past 2 months – where have you been?
Hi everyone, or perhaps I should say g’day.
With my relocation from Australia to England now complete, I have been wondering what my first OGC blog should be about. The excellent discussion generated in the past couple of weeks by Chris Holmes’s comments (http://lists.opengeospatial.org/pipermail/requests/2013-February/000205.html) on the OGC GeoPackage Standard seems a perfect way to start. And as you all get to know me you will learn I love a good robust discussion.
