Geospatial World Forum 2012

There are many, many international geospatial conferences. There are those dedicated to scientific topics, some related to specific topics, such as the GSDI Association conferences and spatial data infrastructures, and then there are many vendor-specific conferences and exhibitions. However, there are very few geospatial events dedicated to bringing together all the industry leaders from the public sector, the private sector, academia and research.

In April 2012 in Amsterdam there will be a meeting of almost all of the major geospatial industry leaders you know. This event is called the Geospatial World Forum and it is bringing together the great and the good. It’s not biased on any technology, any platform, any type of data or any software vendor. It has all of these topics covered under one banner.

Simple by designThere are some seriously heavyweight speakers lined up and having just returned from the India Geospatial Forum (organized by the same people), I know the topic for this event is on the money (no pun intended). The theme for Geospatial World Forum 2012 is the Geospatial Industry and the World Economy. I encourage you to do two things. One is to take a look at the agenda and let me know if you don’t find something of interest. The other is to register.
